HOLDING YOUR STORY
I believe we all have a story that deserves to be held and heard.
In a time of artificial intelligence, there is still, and perhaps now more than ever, a profound need for human stories: the messy, tender, unfinished stories that cannot be held by a machine, because they live in the body, in relationship, and in the space between words.
Anam is the Irish word for soul.
Here, we share soul stories, the ones that shape us, the ones we carry, the ones we're still discovering.
It is a word that carries weight without being heavy. It speaks to something beneath the surface, the part of us that exists beyond our roles, our histories, and the stories we have been told about ourselves.
The soul is not always loud. It does not always announce itself, but it is always present, waiting to be met.
It is in human connection that the soul most often finds itself. In the moment someone feels truly heard. In the pause between words when something unspoken is understood.
Anam Roots is not just a name. It is an intention to create a space where the soul can be met, where roots can gently be explored, and where your story can be held.
Therapy for Individuals and Couples
Sometimes what we are carrying doesn't have a name yet. This is a gentle, relational space to begin with what feels difficult to name, carry, or express.
Rooted in story, creativity, and connection, Anam Roots Therapy offers a space for individuals and couples who want to understand themselves more deeply.
A gentle, one-on-one space to hold your story and explore the parts of yourself asking for attention.
Welcome
Anam Roots Therapy offers a gentle space to explore what is difficult to carry alone, through reflection, conversation, and creative ways of making sense of experience.
A space to slow down together, to understand the patterns between you and find new ways of being heard.
Creative collective spaces for reflection, imagery, and understanding through shared experience.
Why dramatherapy?
Dramatherapy is a form of psychotherapy that offers ways of exploring experience beyond words alone. Through story, metaphor, imagery, movement, and reflection, it can help make space for what may feel difficult to name.
You do not need any previous experience with drama or creativity. The work is always shaped around what feels supportive, comfortable, and manageable to you.
Dramatherapy is a creative therapy that works with mind and body. It allows you to express yourself in a creative and contained way.
How we might work
Our work together is gentle, relational, and shaped around what feels supportive for you. There is no fixed way to begin - we make space for what is present, and move at a pace that feels manageable.
The Beginning
Beginning with what feels present
We start with what feels most present, whether that is a feeling, a question, a pattern, or something harder to name.
The Process
Exploring through story and reflection
Through conversation, imagery, metaphor, and creative refection, we may begin to notice new meanings, patterns, and possibilities.
The Integration
Making sense of what emerges
Over time, the work can bring greater clarity, connection, and a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the stories you carry.
