Elizabeth Anam Roots Therapy

The Heart of Anam Roots

I'm Elizabeth, the heart of Anam Roots Therapy.

Anam means soul in Irish, and the name reflects what matters most to me in my therapy practice: creating a gentle, grounded space where you can feel heard, understood and met with compassion.

My work is rooted in story, connection and compassion. I work with individuals and couples who may be feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that are difficult to shift alone.

I support people through relationship difficulties, life transitions, family strain, grief, and the stories we carry, especially when words do not come easily. My approach is relational, thoughtful, and creative. I aim to offer a space where things can be explored with care and at a pace that feels manageable.

How We’ll Work Together

Quiet reassurance

We begin where you are. I offer a calm and supportive space where your comfort matters, and where we can move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

Beyond the spoken

When words feel difficult, we can also explore through imagery, metaphor, or creative reflection. There is no right way to do this. We will simply begin in whatever way feels most natural.

Kind partnership

I see you as the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, offering steadiness, care, and a listening presence as we explore what you need.

What working together might feel like.

Our work together is gentle and unhurried. We begin by arriving just as you are, with space to settle in and notice how things feel in the moment.

Through reflection, conversation, and creative exploration, we can look at your experience from new angles. Sometimes imagery, metaphor, or story can help something make sense in a different way. Over time, this can bring more clarity, ease, and a deeper sense of connection with yourself.

Ways we can work together

Therapy for Individuals

A private and supportive space to explore what is happening for you through conversation, creative reflection, and dramatherapy.

Groups and Workshops

I also offer groups and workshops in Liverpool, the surrounding areas, and online. These gently held spaces are designed to support connection, reflection, and creative exploration.

Groups and workshops can offer a gentle stepping stone into individual therapy, especially for those wanting a supportive place to begin.
